Course Description
HND Students Are Required To Complete 16 UnitsThis course is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in current and future employment or for progression to an undergraduate degree. It aims to provide an educational foundation for a range of administrative and management careers in business, specialised studies directly relevant to individual vocations and professions in which students are working or intend to seek employment and enable students to make an immediate contribution in employment.

The HND will give you a comprehensive overview of business practices and disciplines, providing you with the real, practical skills needed in today’s competitive international business environment. Successful completion of the HND will open up many career opportunities for you. This practical and intensive programme allows you to gain an internationally recognized business qualification in just 24 months. Fully validated by Edexcel, one of the world’s leading examining and awarding bodies, this HND qualification is recognized and respected by employers and higher education institutions around the world.

Entry Requirements:

  • * Normally a minimum of one A level (in an appropriate subject)
  • * 5 GCSEs or a BTEC National Award or GNVQ Advanced Qualification at pass level or equivalent.
  • * Any equivalent overseas qualification
  • * Completion of High School Certificate and relevant work experience
  • * Applications from mature students are welcome.

English Language Requirement
Non EU students who wish to apply for the course must produce a Secure English Language Test (SELT) certificate from a UK Border Agency approved provider, showing that they have achieved level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in each of the components: Speaking; listening; reading; and writing. Students will automatically meet the language requirements if they are an English-speaking nation. Course Structure

To achieve the HND qualification, students are required to complete 16 units, altogether 240 credits; 8 are core units and 8 are specialist units.

HND in Hospitality Management

Aim of the Course

This course will equip you with vital managerial and technical skills necessary to manage hospitality businesses. The course boasts a very high employment record for students achieving the diploma. This is a two-year course leading to the internationally recognized HND. This HND Diploma is a certification of knowledge offering a variety of employment choices in the Tourist and Hospitality Industry, specialising on careers in the Leisure and tourism sector.

The course aims to give well-rounded, interdisciplinary knowledge in theoretical and practical levels of administrating in the Tourism Industry.

The course aims to provide students with the necessary business skills with which to operate in the Tourism Industry as it is considered to be one of biggest and strongest industries all over the world. The course, examines the economical, social, political, and environmental aspects of Tourism. Students develop specialised business skills and they will have the chance to focus their studies on administrating tourism businesses, transportation, and the framework where the businesses operate (legal, political and human resources framework).

It also can be used as a prerequisite for entry onto the 3rd year of Bachelor in Hospitality Management offered at many UK universities or other educational institutions internationally.

The HND is closely aligned with our BA degree. Students with proven ability may transfer to the degree at the end of the second year. HND in Health & Social Care

Aim of the Course
To prepare and equip students with knowledge and skills in the practice and management of Health and Social Care programmes leading to employment or further and higher education to degree level. The Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) are highly regarded, nationally and internationally recognised, undergraduate level programmes, equivalent to the first and second year of a university degree course.

They are at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework. These Health and Social Care programmes have been designed to equip individuals with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for employment in Health & Social Care, both in the UK and overseas.

These qualifications meet and exceed the National minimum standard of qualification set by the Care Quality Commission for those practising in Health & Social Care in the UK. The course is suitable for all those already working in the sector who wishes to gain practical skills and a formal NQF Level 5 qualification in order to progress to supervisor or junior management level roles.

Mode of delivery
Participation in a variety of teaching and learning methods which include interactive lectures, seminar presentations, group projects, Independent directed study, Study Skills workshops. Students are expected to participate in classes which are designed to be interactive.

Assessment
The course is assessed by end of term by assignments. Each unit is internally assessed and graded by qualified Tutors / Assessors and Internal Verifiers. The final assessment is done by an Edexcel External Examiner. Grades awarded are Pass, Merit and Distinction. Key Facts
