NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION IS BETTER THAN VERBAL COMMUNICATION AT WORKPLACE
In the 21st century business communication environment; effective communication is the significant tool for organisational functionality and business success. Though there are different modes of business communication has been used, only two effective communication modes will be discussed in the present discussion such as verbal and non-verbal communication. Both these modes are effectively used for relaying information, directives and organisational functionality. Communication is one of the basic components of the organisational structure development. Internal and external communication helps to build the stakeholder relationship which is significant for exchanging information and share fundamental organisational benefit.
Verbal words are may be expressed through speaking or through written mode. In the digital world, most of the verbal communication has been done through written mode that is in the form of texting or emails et cetera. Almost every people carries a smart phone which a communicating device and modern communication is dependent predominantly on these communication tools for conveying information from or within the organisation. Apart from verbal communication non-verbal communication has been co-existed in the business communication arena. Non-verbal communication includes facial expression, gesture, body posture and eye contact (Keyton et al. 2013, p.152). The non-verbal communication is also known as interpersonal communication mode which reinforces the communication through different facial or bodily expression which is effective for relaying information.
