Var(X) = E(X-?)^2
From the given values,
?= Px
= 1(0.3) +2(0.5)+3(0.1) + 4(0.1)
= 0.3+1+0.3+0.4
=2
Var(X) = E(X-?)^2
=(1-2)^2 (0.3)+(2-2)^2(0.5) + (3-2)^2(0.1) + (4-2)^2(0.1)
= 0.3 + 0 + 0.1 +0.4
= 0.8

Standard deviation, ? = ? Var(X)
= ? 0.8
= 0.894427191
=0.89
